Women’s National 100m hurdles record holder Jyothi Yarraji is among the leading names who will compete in the Indian Grand Prix 1-2025 at SAI (NSSC) here on Thursday.
Moumita Mondal, who finished second to Jyothi in the National Games last month, once again lines up against her rival. The women’s 100m hurdles field also includes Nithya Ramraj.
The single day meet serves as a chance for athletes to qualify for the Asian Athletics Championships which will be held in South Korea in May.
Manikanta Hoblidhar, who broke the men’s National 100m record in this city two years ago, will be challenged by Amlan Borgohain. Borgohain will also run the 200m event.
Praveen Chithravel, a triple jump specialist, will be seen in the long jump event.
Telangana sprinter Nithya Gandhe will start as favourite in the women’s 100m and 200m.
