During his innings, the southpaw had an intense battle with South Delhi Superstarz’s Digvesh as he whacked him for a boundary and three successive sixes in his first over. A video of their heated face-off has been going viral, where Nitish can be seen saying a few words to Rathi and later mimicking his signing celebration on his bat after hitting the wrist spinner for a six.

Annoyed by Nitish’s antics, Rathi also ended up exchanging some remarks, which didn’t go down well with the batter as he charged towards him angrily, leading to an altercation between the duo. Seeing the tempers flare, other players and the umpires had to intervene to separate the duo.

Nitish smashed 22 runs in Rathi’s first over and further clobbered him for two sixes and a four in his next one as the wrist spinner registered expensive figures of 0/39 in 2 overs. Nitish reached his fifty off just 20 balls after smashing hat-trick of sixes against Rathi and later brought up his century off 42 balls with a single. He remained on 134* (55) after bludgeoning eight fours and 15 sixes from his bat to help his team progress to Qualifier 2.

Meanwhile, West Delhi Lions will next take on East Delhi Riders in Qualifier 2 on Saturday, August 30. The Tejasvi Dahiya-led side will aim for another thunderous victory to help them seal their spot in the final.
