Yuki Bhambri and Alexei Popyrin win doubles title in Dubai

Yuki Bhambri and Alexei Popyrin of Australia beat second seeds Harri Heliovaara of Finland and Henry Patten of Britain 3-6, 7-6(12), [10-8] in the doubles final of the $3,415,700 ATP tennis tournament in Dubai on Saturday.

It was the first title of the season and 23rd doubles crown of his career for Yuki. It was the maiden doubles title for the 25-year-old Popyrin, ranked 27th in singles.

The Indo-Aussie team had beaten the top seeds in similar fashion after losing the first set in the first round, and had been pulling through every match in the super tie-break. The champion team won 500 ATP points and $198,880. The runner-up team collected 300 points and $106,060.

In the $710,735 ATP event in Santiago, Chile, Rithvik Bollipalli and Nicolas Barrientos set up a title clash against top seeds Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni of Argentina.
